Meet the Instructors

Shihan Norbert

Norbert has 42 years in the martial arts. He is a 7th Dan in Shotokon Karate and a 3rd Dan in Bushido Kan Ryu. Norbert was the 2010 Las Vegas World Champion Team Canada Coach. He has world judging/officiating experience.

Sensei Lloyd

Lloyd has been in the martial arts 32 years. He is a 4th degree black belt and has been instructing for 29 years. Lloyd presently instructs our Teen Black Belt along with his son Nicholas.

Sensei Gord

Gord has been with the Karate Do Academy for 16 years. He is 2nd degree black belt and presently teaches the Midget Advanced Class. Gord's other interests include camping, waterskiing and travelling.

Sensei Alyssia

Alyssia has been with the Karate Do Academy since she was 6 years old. This is her 15th year in the martial arts and her 7th year as a black belt and instructor. She currently instructs the Kickboxing, Teen Advanced Karate and Cardio Kick classes. She also enjoys running, waterskiing, and camping with family and friends!

Sensei Lisa

Lisa has been with Karate Do Academy for 14 years. She is a 2nd degree black belt and has been instructing for 9 years. She presently instructs our Little Ninja's and Kids Beginners class.

Sensei Dean

Dean has been in karate for 22 years. He is a 3rd degree black belt and has been instructing for 16 years. Dean presently teaches our Junior Advanced class as well as our Adult Karate class.

Sensei Ron

Ron is a 3rd degree black belt. He has been with Karate Do Academy for 11 years.

Sensei Derek

Derek has been with Karate Do Academy for 10 years. He is a 1st degree black belt and has been instructing for 3 years.

Sensei Nicholas

Nicholas has been with Karate Do Academy for over 10 years. He is a 1st degree black belt and has been instructing for 2 years. He currently instructs with his dad Sensei Lloyd the Teen Black Belt class.

RED DEER TOURNAMENT - MAY 19 (CHENEY'S)

For anyone who would like to attend this tournament please notify Sensei Alyssia for information. Since Sensei Niko and Melissa are graduating we will not be able to attend but more advanced students are welcome to represent Karate Do at this event.

CALGARY TOURNAMENT - MAY 26 (ARASHI DO)

Information for this event will be posted at the dojo. For those who do not want to hotel or camp in Regina that same weekend this would be a good day trip. 1st to 3rd place receive swords instead of trophies!

REGINA TOURNAMENT - MAY 26 (SPIRIT OF THE DRAGON)

Like last year many of us will be camping. There are several hotels nearby also. Information on the campground and hotels is at the dojo. We did this last year for Pan Ams and had a TON OF FUN! Please book accommodations ASAP and let Sensei Alyssia know whether you will be attending Regina or Calgary.
